Get to Know Rob Blaise

Rob Blaise is a self-taught woodworker who discovered his passion amidst the snowy winters of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. As a first-generation Haitian American, Rob’s upbringing instilled in him a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, resourcefulness, and the value of creating something lasting. Seeking a creative outlet, he began carving and experimenting with different wood species, eventually honing his skills in furniture making, particularly dining tables. Inspired by modern architecture and Japanese joinery, Rob creates unique, heirloom-quality pieces that encourage connection and conversation. He believes in the power of a dining table to bring people together, fostering meaningful interactions.

Rob’s commitment to sustainability and quality craftsmanship is evident in every piece he creates. He prioritizes using locally sourced materials and traditional techniques, ensuring that each piece is not only beautiful but also built to last. A collaborative artist at heart, Rob thrives on working closely with clients, forging lasting relationships and bringing their visions to life. His academic background – with master’s degrees in both Business Administration and Data Analytics, and a PhD in Business – informs his meticulous approach to design and his ability to understand and translate complex concepts into tangible form. For Rob, the greatest reward lies in the creative challenges and problem-solving that woodworking presents, and the satisfaction of delivering pieces that both he and his clients are proud of.

His work has been featured on HGTV’s “Building Roots,” Season 2. When not in his workshop, Rob likes to seek new adventures, spend time with family and friends and can be found immersed in books and research, constantly seeking new knowledge and inspiration to fuel his craft. With an insatiable curiosity and a drive to create, Rob Blaise continues to transform wood into functional art, one unique piece at a time.
