In traditional Japanese design, wabi-sabi is centered on nature’s imperfections. This surfboard-style coffee table uses an ancient joinery technique of mortise and tenon as the primary joinery method. The top surface of this table is a walnut species, also known as juglans major, that was reclaimed from the Arizona forest fire in 2021. Care and attention were placed on the careful balance of restoration while accentuating the features created by nature.
